Oxymetazoline is a α-adrenergic agonist given by the nasal route. It's typically used in the decongestant category.
After one nasal dose you'd typically start noticing the effect in 5 min – 10 min. The drug reaches its highest blood level in about 30 min – 1 hr, and a single dose usually keeps working for around 10 hr – 12 hr.
